Interactive Google(type) Map

I would like to embed an interactive area map in a Flash movie. I tried Yahoo's map component, but it's proven unreliable to say the least and crashes Flash every other time that I compile. Google has a really nice interactive map available using Flex, but I know zero about Flex. I'm hoping that someone knows of a drag 'n drop map component with map drag capability and preferably zoom. I consider myself to be "advanced-intermediate" in actionscript, so I don't want something that's too complex to script.

Any suggestions of a reliable component and/or tutorial that can get me started?
