Making doors look like they are opening?

As a note to all, using a 3D program or After Effects or any similar program is currently not an option, this has to be done in Flash for now.

Is there a way to use an image of double doors, split them in half so you have the left door and the right door, and somehow make them look like they are opening to reveal the canvas underneath?

I want to make it look realistic, maybe add some type of 3D edge to the door as it opens toward the screen so it looks real and has the depth that an actual door would.

Any ideas?
