Whats best practice for this?
import png's to flash.. then flash swf's to flex?
just curious how everyone else does this.

That is what my graphic designer does, but I personally dislike the practice. I am not sure what (if any) benefits there are to compiling your assets into a SWF before embedding them, other then "protecting" your work from being copied (but not really). As a developer who primarily uses Linux, I would much prefer to have the ability to edit any assets I need with Gimp or some other open source software. Since I do not have Flash CS3, I have to send it back to him whenever I need an adjustment. I'm curious to know what other people's take on it is.

Yeah, funny as this sounds, I've never worked in an environment where.. "he does this, and he does that"
I do it all.. i am the designer, i am the flash dude, and I am the flex guy.
My real issue on this subject stems from wondering....
how taking a vector image and giving it a .swf extension (keeps it vector) and applying that to say a canvas that can be resized --- vs. taking a photoshop png that can be resized but wouldn't be vector..and obviously they won't look the same in quality...
I am on the hunt for a way to overcome this.. mainly because I know photoshop pretty well.. but no so much with illustrator.
I hope everyone who uses flex responds to this.. great thoughts..
