Metalic Gold Coloring...Can it be done?

Wish to use a metalic gold coloring on some text that i produce in flash, then make into a symbol. Can i somehow do this with the flash palette? I want to do it as a vector so that when it scales it does not distort. I know i can use 3dStudio max or something similar, but i would rather not go that root. While we're at it, is there anyway to extrude that text so it looks 3d as well.

Hi...
To replicate gold use the Fill panel, Window/Panels/Fill. Choose linear or radial from the drop down menu and play around with the yellows, browns and white.
The best way to do 3D would be to use a programme like Swift3D, which is cheap and very effective:
