Ok now this one is gunna be a ".......oh god" question i bet!
But now that i know how to use the VERY basics of flash i want to stretch out and learn sooooooo this is my first El Simple question

Basically ive made some text, moved it around the screen, inputting keyframes in of course and motion tweening it and the text flys around the screen. THAT part works fine and looks....basic, but nevermind!

Now, the part im stuck on is i thought id break the text so i can use the arrow tool to pull it apart and distort it etc. BUT when i do that i can no longer motion tween it seems and basically the text will move around the screen but instead of blending into its distorted shape its just appears as its distorted shape.

Quite frustrating indeed!

If anyone has any idea on how to solve this or whether it can or can't be solved, be my guest :)

If you don't know what im on about ill try and explain better if i can,

Cheers,

make a MC with the text u want to use and then edit the MC
break apart the text CTRL+B and then make it as u want
it should work now
if u want u can use the shape action in pannels/frame and select
not motion but SHAPEu can use that for your text that is breaked!!

It sounds like you want to animated the text distorting. If that is the case then you will need to shape tween the letter. You can do this by distributing the letter the layers, so each letter is on a separate layer. Break the letters apart so they are shapes. Make a second set of keyframes further down the timeline and use the arrow tool to distort these. Choose the first set of keyframes and the choose Shape instead of Motion from the pulldown menu of the frames property inspector. You should note that shape tweening adds a lot to your file size though.
