It seems there's not enough interest in AIR at this forum!
Are people involved in AIR discussion else where?

no, it must be that not many are asking questions about it. Have a question? I'll try to help.

thanks evdog, thanks for offering to help.

I have just started to look at AIR. It seems very promising. I am thinking about using it to develop my thesis project. I am currently collecting information about AIR so I have not had a chance to do much with it.

On question that I have relates to the mouse.
I was just wondering if AIR gives developers access to the right mouse click?

yes, there is a MouseEvent for right click. its MouseEvent.RIGHT_CLICK or "rightClick". MouseEvent.RIGHT_CLICK will not be highlighted in the Flash CS3 IDE. at least it doesn't in mine, but the code does work.

mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.RIGHT_CLICK, rightClickHandler);
function rightClickHandler(evt:MouseEvent){
trace("Right Clicked");

of course, tracing doesn't work testing the app normally. press <ctrl><shift><enter> to run the debugger where it will trace the message.

for the most recent AIR (in Flash) documentation, go to http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AIR/1.1/devappsflash/

and in regular livedocs flash documentation a http://livedocs.adobe.com/flash/9.0/ActionScriptLangRefV3/images/AirIcon12x12.gif will be next to any property or method that is only available in Adobe AIR.
example: http://livedocs.adobe.com/flash/9.0/ActionScriptLangRefV3/flash/events/MouseEvent.html

Thanks evdog,

I am glad to learn that RIGHT_CLICK is support as an event in AIR.
I guess I can start to learn about the different AIR class right from Flash IDE.

most AIR questions are posted on the Flex forum as the code other then acess to the file system is identical. so if it doents have something specificly to do with AIR then it generaly gets put on the Flex or the AS3 page
