I grabbed this idea from an old QBasic challenge. Create the best visual effect, screen saver, or simple interaction in 10 lines of code.
Rules:
No objects can start on your stage.
No objects can have more than four frames.
A line of code is any interpreter executed statement ending in a ';' or '}'. That means directives like 'import' don't count. 'package' will not count either, but 'class' will.
The flash applet must be runnable from a standalone flashplayer without an AIR installation. (The point of this is to make sure only flash code and indirectly supporting code are executed.)
Both AS2 and AS3 are allowed.
No Videos, or other external multi-frame swfs. (basically no un-coded animation)
All code outside the 'flash' package gets counted as your flash code, this essentially means no external libraries.
Submissions will be evaluated on:
Creativity
Ingenuity
Technique
Presentation
Competition ends August 19th, 2008.
