[CS3] VideoPlayer stopping prematurely in Firefox only

I'm getting a strange error in firefox only where a VideoPlayer based playback seems to think it has hit the end of file sometimes within the first couple of seconds, and stops playback. This only happens on Windows/Firefox (2.0.0.16) and doesn't happen in Windows/IE or Mac/Firefox or Mac/Safari, and is not specific to one video, but happens to a bunch (all that I've tried with). The video is locally loaded, so there should be no issue with buffering at all either.

Has anyone seen anything like this kind of behavior? Is this a known issue I'm missing? or something esoteric on my end?

Is the video player straight out-of-the-box component or one you built or tweaked?

Put a plain ol' player in a file and see if you get the same results.
