I've spend some time trying to do a nice job. Tell me what do you think about this site? www.tkldesign.com .
Thanks.

I think it's ok but here are a few things:
. my resolution is 1024x768 but I had to scroll over to see the scrollbars and turn off the music, then scroll back to see the menu. (re the music, maybe start the movie with it off then allow users to load and stream it if they want it? That would reduce the size of the movie too, for which your dialup users would be grateful)
. the scrollbars are annoying - they scroll too slowly and no need to scroll on release - make it work like a std gui bar, even if you want it to look different.
. the TKL logo looks poor quality - as if you've adapted that from some gif file or other and cut colours out of it - maybe start again with that lettering and get it looking smart.
. the revolving cube looks like it should be part of the interface in some way - can you make that part of nav system?
. the font within the menu items is very dull - could be more eye-catching...
Hope that's helpful,

Hi raduCocieru,
As a site, technically it works. However, as a site which is to go online and sell TKLdesign I'm afraid I'm not so convinced. There are simply too many things going on, it doesn't seem to have a coherent style and the content isn't really clear or accessible enough.
The images look crunky and the style doen't really seem to gel with the image of the company. Looks like your style has been applied to the company rather than the other way around.
To be honest I would say that this site could be an example of a website that would have been better done using plain html. Flash as used here doesn't really aid in creating a navigable, user friendly site.
I think I would have tried to keep the site visually cleaner and just used the Flash effects more subtly. Information presentation is the prime objective but looking at that site I don't get any feel for the company or what it is trying to say because I can't see past all the Flash.
Why have little buttons to close the windows when there is nothing behind the windows anyway? Touches like that are superfluous from what I can tell.
You obviously have the technical skill with Flash here, but maybe you need to think more clearly about the site aims and usability?
sorry :(
But hey, you say it's your first site, congratulations on getting this far and being brave enough to site check it, esp with moany people like me about! ;)
