URL or ID to set button state

I have a simple sliding menu system that is the main navigation on a site and I want the button for each page to stay in the down state when each page is being viewed. Is there any actionscript that could read the URL or page ID and then instruct a button to be in the down state?

I could build 7 separate SWFs that load with each page but would rather just have one as the customer often changes things.
