shadow effect on toon face?

Imagine that i have a toons face and i want to put a shadow on the left side of it's face, how can i do that?

Make your toon library symbol a movieclip. Use any shade you wish the shadow to be to draw the form of your shadow as . Convert this graphic symbol to a movieclip. Then you can drag the shadow from the library to it's own layer of the MC of the face of your toon. You can now adjust the alpha(transparency) level of the shadow.
