Hello,

I am in urgent need of a professional flash developer. You must have extensive knowledge of ActionScript.

I have a lot of projects lined up so there could be on-going work if I am satisfied with the job.

Requirements:

* Can speak fluent English
* Can be contacted via MSN Messenger
* 2+ Years Experience

Please contact me on MSN if you are interested.
MSN removed, i'm going elsewhere.

Thanks!

That's rude! So I can't apply because I'm French citizen living in the US for many years, writing tutorials in English, doing presentation in English in Front of IT people, but since English is my second language I'M OUT! RUDE!

French is your first/primary language?

Cool...

More than rude, it's illegal! Discrimination is illegal in United States, please can a moderator do something? It's as bad as saying "only white people" and shouldn't be allowed on this site.

NathanH, you are a low narrow minded.

Wow, this isn't a very friendly forum.

I only speak English, and therefore I only want to hire someone who can speak English. There is no point in hiring someone who doesn't speak the same language as I do. I never said you had to be from a certain country, I simply said you must be able to speak English.

By the way, I have changed it from "English as first language" to "Can speak fluent English". You obviously all took what I wrote the wrong way.

No problem, I'll go elsewhere. Thanks anyway.

well man, good riddance. seriously it is against the law to say "English as first language." It's definitely discriminatory to resquest that. Fluent is ok to say, since its more of a skill that can be learned by anyone rather than something you were born into. And we are very friendly and thats why we are sticking up for those that you discriminated against.

Ummmmmh! Curious! A few days ago, I posted a few answers in French in Ultraman's threads, and everybody including CyanBlue went up in arms requesting English!

Deux poids, deux mesures?

That's different to ask for the same language to be used so everybody can understand than to ask for people to be born in English speaking country only in order to apply for a job!
For Nathanh: The same way one would prepare a nice cover letter, without spelling mistakes, or double meanings and such to apply for a position, an employer should be able to prepare a nice position description without double meanings, discrimination, and spelling mistakes in order to be taken seriously by potential applicant. I would so far say that I really don't want to work with a guy like you.

Gentlemen;

I think we've done ourselves and Nathanh an injustice. In all cases we should give the other person the benefit of the doubt. There are plenty of cases when we might slip up and use the wrong word or phrase while we are talking - or even typing.

It seems he had no intention to discriminate. I'd also point out that this does not fit the age, sex, ethinicticity, or religion clause of the law.

sincerely;

Mike
