View Full Version : How to export to movie, but not depend on timeline?

I'm trying to export a little animated logo to a video file.
Thing is, I'm using tweener animations, and it's all animated in actionscript. So there's nothing going on on the timeline, except for the first frame that contains the actionscript code and my objects in their starting position.
So when I export, it's just showing a static messed up image of all my elements, which should be hidden from start (due to itemMc.alpha = 0; on basically every item).
How do I realize this?

Use the quicktime export in CS3. It has been updated to record live playback of SWFs.
Otherwise you can play your SWF and use a 3rd party screen capture app to record it as a movie.

I'm currently using Flash CS3 Professional (9.0).
Are you saying this feature is available in this version, or an updated version of CS3 which is more up to date than the one I'm using?
If it's suppose to be available in this version, where should I click to find it?
I can only find:
File > Export > Export Movie...
And from here, there's no setting whatsoever that would indicate a live playback recording.
I tried the quicktime option in the publish settings dialog, but that's apparently only if you make your project Flash 5 or lower.
About the second alternative; what screen capture app could you recommend me for Windows? It has to be able to capture with pretty good quality. Preferably sound as well but not necessary.

use a time setting rather than frames. Its in the quicktime MOV export options

Yeah that was my absolutely first guess when trying to solve it.
Did not work.
Same result.

Convert an outputed .swf with Moyea or Geovid...
