anybody have any advice on building flash for large displays? i'm trying to build an interactive for a quad-1080p setup that's obviously going over the 2880px limit. is there any way to override that number?

No, you cannot override that limit... But you can split the images and load them into multiple movieClips...
For example, you have 4000px image you want to display... Create two images of 2000px each... Load the first one into the img1_mc movieClip and he second one into the img2_mc movieClip and place the img2_mc right next to img1_mc... You get the idea...

but if i actually need the STAGE to be 3840x2160, then i'm outta luck, huh?

I think that is the case... But you can always make the SWF to be fullscreen to go similar to what you are looking for... That's what I normally did when I created something for a big screen...

yeah. i think i'm gonna make it 1/4 the size and then stretch it to cover the four monitors with swf studio.
do you know if i can import higher DPI photographs into the file so that when it stretches, it won't look bad?

I could not be remembering it correctly, but I think the image become 72DPI when loaded into the Flash plus some weird look... I suggest you test it out to see if it looks okay or not...
