hi
I have a question about the smoothing of gif images when scaled... I use a sequence of gif images for a animation and I scale the images to achieve a blurring effect (library settings ==> allow smoothing, compression lossless/png) this all works when exported but when i make my timeline bigger then 1 frame it becomes pixelated... AND I DON'T WANT THIS TO HAPPEN!!!
does anyone know what I did wrong or if this isn't possible?
thanks in advance

you mean like a guassian blur right?
are you importing all these images (*gif) into flash? ...importing images especially *gif into flash movies can get very big file once the movie is done. Post a link for the flash movie you are working on and I'll see what I can do. Cuz a "guassian blur" allows smoothing.

guassian blur? hmm don't know
-this is what I have: one is a swf with a gif in it with one frame on the timeline, the other has two frames on the timeline...see for yourself.
one frame swf (http://voc.applify.com/fk/test_gif.swf)
two frame swf (http://voc.applify.com/fk/test_gif_2.swf)
what I want is the second to look like the first. So I want multiple frames on the _root but still maintain the blur effect...
aight then
ltrs

well if you want a blurred backround all you have too do is import the first backround that is blurred and add a keyframe, and so on and so on.
make a new movie
file - new
import the gif image that is blurred
file - import - then browse to were the image is then click ok
finally it should then appear in your movie area in flash mx then if you want to add the same image throughout the movie just add keyframes along the way ;)
hope this helps

I don't think you understand me... the gif in the first swf is the gif in the second swf... So the image isn't blurred itself but when you scale it flash will blur it... capiche? Hope this will clearify:D
anyone else maybe??
