Platformer tutorial

Well the thing is I have been trying to find a good (Free) platformer tutorial for quite some time now but i still cant find what im looking for.

Im looking for a tutorial like this.

1. Easy to understand
2. Covers all the basics(Enemies, Power-ups, goals, characters)
3. Source file included
4. Free
5. Not vauge
6. Detailed.

Thats what im trying to look for.

All the other platformer tuts i found were hard to understand.

i think your best hop is to look for a platform engine which has all the jumping, movement and collisions done and try understanding that and then start asking people to either find tutorials or make there own enemies to show you how to do it.

making a goal is actually the easiest part.

well i've been looking for one but haven't had any luck so i've making one for personal use and it's not working yet and know one is helping me so i'm beggining to think i'm asking the impossible for this forum.

um i would suggest the platform 2 engine on deviantart.com or maybe some others which are on the site. but i would only use them until you get a better one.

I bought a book about flash games (in AS2) years back. All of the examples are freely distributed online at friends of ed (http://www.friendsofed.com/book.html?isbn=9781590592366).

Chapter 2 has a platformer engine. Look for "THEGAME.SWF". The more you look at it, the more you'll realize how much of a hack platformer engines are. It's a messy business. Good luck. ;)
