A simple gun/weapon tutorial?

That would be very, very, VERRRRRRY useful to me, I've searched this site, google and checked some more and I can't find a tutorial on creating a simple gun that fires when you hit space and changes direction by the left and right arrow keys.

Any help is appreciated!
