sorry i don't know of that game. maybe you could give a link to the game or screenshots or explain how it works. and i might give an example or something.

if i don't get back to you try emailing me at scorpafied@gmail.com
but remeber to tell me who you are what you want in the email or i will just look at it and be like WTF and delete it.

umm, ok.
well i'll explain and give a link, basically there's a picture of this character, and there's buttons on each side, and whenever you click the buttons, like the top button(next t the head) the head changes, and the same for the body and feet, what i'd like to know is how to make it work, i've tried a few ways and they've failed horribly.

thanks if anyone can help me :/

ok well lets review what we are trying to do first:
we want to make a character selection so we have a preview image of what character will look like up the top of page then have selection down the bottom.
so now we know this we could make buttons for all those graphics and for what one is pressed it changes the graphic of the main preview image which could be a movie clip which contain 3 key frames one for feet another for head and body.

so now i'm guessing your probably saying "ohh i didn't think of that, but i still can't do it. can you help me!" well ok i will so lets put our theory into practise.

one thing you should know is that yes it works and everything but i didn't spend time in making this look really nice, so that is up to you.

in return for using this example you give me the permission to put it on my site along with many other examples i've made.

thanks a lot for the fla file =]
helped a lot :D and no i'm not thinking that, i'm thinking "i didn't think fo that, it's awsome, i'm crapy at actionscript >__<"
but one more thing, how do you make it so the character chosen is on the next frame or whatever? or is that just made when you copypasta the player to the next keyframe?

??? i'm not really understanding what you mean. do you mean having the character you made as the character that will be in the next level?

well you can copy the preview instance and make a second frame and put it there and it will be there i was trying to make a characetr with sprite changing for you but it wasn't keeping the custom creation once i place actionscript on it.
