Dim Lights (like hulu)

Does anybody know how to replicate the dim lights effect like on the hulu player? (hulu.com) Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

Can't even see what it does 'cause the content can't be streamed outside the US, and the player is simply not functional!

How come you're seeing it and in Canada?

I can't see it but I know what it does. It's similar to a javascript lightbox function where everything around the player gets 'dimmed' by having an opaque color fill placed over it, if that makes sense. I'm pretty sure you do it with js which is why I've posted here.

But that page is all one big flash movie, so that's easy, if you click the dim lights button on that page it's basically what I need but I need it to do the entire page, not just the flash.
