Publishing buttons?

Hi, I'm working on a website for my website design class and I have to add some flash in order to get full credit.

I'm using Flash MX. I've created a button and published it, but when I go to add it to my html page, it comes up as a blank white box. I've opened both the .html and .swf files in my web browser and it comes up as a simple black button with no text, yet the button I made has text and is blue.

I asked for help from my teacher, and she had no idea how to make my button work, and I've searched the web for hours and have only found info on how to make buttons, not how to make them work in my html website. Please, if anyone knows how to do this, please reply.

I'm far from an authoritative source, but I imagine that you'll need to at least post your actionscript and html code within appropriate tags for this forum, or, ideally, zip up and post your html and .fla, so that people can look at it and figure out what's wrong.

Your description basically says that it doesn't work.
