hi majicpie,
simply convert your clock arms into graphic symbols if you haven't already done so. next go to "Modify", down to "Transform", down to "Edit Center". this will allow you to move your clock arms pivot point wherever you like.

Does MX not have Edit center maybe?

sorry in MX follow the same path to "Free Transfrom". you can move your pivot from there.
cheers.

A movieclip in Flash rotates around the local 0,0 point. So, moving the point in free transform does nothing, because you've not moved the object within the mc in relation to the 0,0 coordinates. When you edit a symbol, there is a crosshair in the middle of the stage... That is the point of which everything rotates about. Move your object INSIDE the mc in relation to the crosshair.

Oops... I didn't remember to ask whether you were tweening the motion or actionscripting it.
If you are animating it, his method will work. Otherwise, use the method I supplied.
