So I have these buttons im working on now. They are old film slides & need to function like the slide projector would. I need them to stop all together when user clicks it, because it makes a sound as if being advanced forward like a slide projector would do. However it goes through the movie/button/sequence and starts all over again on release.

Can someone please check this out for me and fill me in on what needs to be done.

Thanks

You can't do it that way... Inserting a movie clip within a button symbol...

What is it you're going for?

On release the slide changes from the face to the audio text, and stay on the audio text?

Yes exactly, it changes to audio. Thats the page it will link to, a music page of songs & samples for the user.

I need it to stop on the "audio" graphic slide when the user clicks the button to link to the next html page. It's aesthetic functionality is that of on old slide film projector, so it needs to stay down on mouse click in order to properly mimic this effect. But instead the movie starts over on release which is not my intent, I would only like the movie to reload on rollout.

Still confused!

So on rollOver the face changes to the audio text, on press and release, the audio slide moves down, and stays down until the mouse is rolled off the area where the slide first was?

Or on press and release does the slide move down and up again but still only seeing the audio text and only see the face if the mouse is rolled off?

The first one is right on.

"So on rollover the face changes to the audio text, on press and release, the audio slide moves down, and stays down until the mouse is rolled off the area where the slide first was?"

...and then when clicked it links the user to a new page of "AUDIO".
thanks

That doesn't quite make sense...
If on a press and most likely a release of the mouse - both usually happen on one single click - the slide is to move down, stay down, and on a second click while in the down position -thus the mouse has left the top area and a rollOut should occur - link to a new page - what do you mean by page? - it makes no sense...

Better explain more clearly the chain of events...

i need this button to do exactly what it does in the swf preview, but on the very last frame of the movie it should stop & stay down on click&release. then link to a page called "AUDIO"

just to clear up any confusion: this is one of many buttons which will appear on a page. once this is complete, it will act as a template for the other buttons.

I hope that I was reading this correctly...

Couldn't you just setup a _global variable to act as an event flag for you saying true/false the first animation sequence has been ran through and if that flag is true meaning it has..go on to the second animation. or stop in a position?

Maybe I'm way off base here.
