View Full Version : IE patch ruining my application
I installed the new IE security patch and my application stopped working -
http://europa.fixedoddsgroup.com/flash-charts/flashgraph800x600.html
The http request it sends works perfectly when typed into the adress bar of IE but doesnt work when requested by loadvariables from the flash file.(it all works well on netscape)
If anyone has any technical knowledge about how the loadvariables request works or any information that could help me solve this, please let me know.
Thanks

well your movie is also not loading for me (I just installed the security patch yesterday), but I tested several of my movies that also use loadVariables and they worked ok. Maybe it is something else, or perhaps just a small different in syntax that worked before and doesn't now. The principle though, seems to work.
i'm on mac, but one of my partners is a pcHead, and installed the latest ie patch too. the graph is drawn without any prob on netscape and ie.
win2000 ie6.0
anyway
this might have something to do with the f6 player's new security assets?
does the http request goes to the same domain then the one the swf resides?
we struggled with that a lill', "domain.com" is not the same thing as "www.mydomain.com" and more fun.. check out this pdf:
http://www.macromedia.com/desdev/mx/flash/whitepapers/security.pdf
hope it helps,
tost
Cheers guys, I think it must be a particular character that is not being passed by IE. I am 100% sure it is the patch that caused it because I made test on 3 computers first checking if the app worked, installing the patch, then checking the app again and the same thing happened on all of them(also running different versions of windows). I will keep on working on it and read Tost's file.
Thanks again.
