I am trying to set the width of a rectangle dynamically based on the length of the text entered in a clip parameter. I am having trouble finding the target path of the rectangle and the clip parameter.

top level is this
'email_mc' (clip parameters 'daText' attached here)
a button entitled 'link_btn' exists
in the hit frame of link_btn is a rectangle titled 'rectangle'. I want the width of this to change based off of the length of the text 'daText'.

Please help me!?!11 :confused:

you can't target an mc on the timeline of a button

are you using a movieclip button? (MX)

No I don't have MX I have 5.0.
I was just trying to build a mc that I can plug into other Flash files so I don't have to keep defining links to other sites with buttons.
