I am wondering if anyone can direct me to a site that is as good as actionscript.org, but focused on Lingo.
thanks.

I looked hard a little while a go but found nothing other than the (very useful) mm newsgroups on director and lingo - check them out...but no forums like this.
I dunno why there doesn't seem to be much of a community around director?
good luck in your search

You might try Fusion Arena. (http://www.fusionarena.com/community) There are excellent forums regarding Film/DV & the Web Community. While not specialising in Lingo alone, it's worth checking out.

thx timeliner, that looks like an useful site...will use it if I can :)
just wondering, but what do you think about possibility/existence of active community for director users (maybe the site you linked is it, so I'll wait and see) - but somehow I don't feel it's likely.....how come director users don't help each other out like flash users do?

Hey JB
It is a mystery to me too that there is no active Director/Lingo community. As far as Fusion Arena is concerned, I think it has too broad an agenda to specialise that way. I could be wrong and maybe with the release of Director MX we'll see something.
The beauty of AS.org is that it is totally focused on ActionScript, and its management (Jesse) lead by example with the help forums/tutes etc.
Maybe I'll post the question at Fusion Arena.
Cheers

No problemo.. good luck. It will be a while before I can get my hands on a copy of Director MX. I think it's about $2,800.00 Australian!!

You find anything anywhere yet?

Which is one of the reasons you won't find forums like this on Lingo. I don't know exact numbers here, but Flash users outnumber Director users greatly. The reasons for this are legion, but to name the 2 foremost, price and purpose. Director just has a different target. Its meaned for television etc and being used mostly by big studio's they tend to just ship their employees to these big seminars. I don't think you'll find many autodidacted, freelance Director users ...
