motion guide

i made a motion guide. So i have this shape that I drew follow this line that I drew (hence making it a motion guide hehe) ......... does anyone know how I can make it so that this shape leaves a permanent trail behind (so it looks like this shape is drawing a line)

copy the line from your motion guide layer to a new (normal) layer, and put a mask layer on top of it, with a square on the mask layer.
Then tween the square so the motion is the same as the object that follows the motion guide...
get it?
