View Full Version : Loading Multiple Swfs with Swf Object

For the life of me, I can't figure out an easy way to embed multiple swfs on a page using swf object. I can get two of them on the page but I can't arrange them at all. Now, I'm trying to embed about 6 swfs on the html page but they just go in line down the page - you can't arrange them or get them to go where you want them to go. They don't respond to any traditional way of organizing things on the page. Every time I search for the answer, I just find "swf object doesn't like multiple swfs on the page." So if that's the case, how else should I embed them.

Any clues??

You can usually stacked them in separate divisions, one over the other, and either harcode the position of each division, or use CSS to do so...

Got a link to this?

I don't have any type of link because I haven't even tried. I don't know where to start!

I have 7 swfs. I am trying to arrange tham on a page. I usually use swfObject to embed the swfs on the page but I've only done it before with one swf. How do I go about arranging the swfs so that I have one long one (900 px) across the top, three on the next row (left box is 220 x 330, middle one is 460 x 330, and right is 220 x 330), and three on the bottom row (left box is 220 x 330, middle one is 460 x 330, and right is 220 x 330).

Anyone know how to do this? IS swfObject the best way to embed the .swf if you want to arrange them?

Quick and dirty example using only 4 movies (but you'll get the picture and add 3 others...), and CSS (which I'm not very good at!) to position the different divisions...

You'll have to experiment with the different CSS settings, to get what you want, but this could be a starting point...

Thanks for the help with this. THat method works great if you are using the old swfObject. Is there any way to do it using swfObject 2.0?

I've never yet used the swfObject2.0... But don't see why it wouldn't work in the same manner...
