Happy and healthy New Year to All!
First problem of 2009:
I've setup a site which uses the Flash Media Server to stream flvs.
The videos play fine on PC browsers, but not the Mac.
Anyone know why this would occur?
The test site is http://www.stonyfieldyotube.com/YoTube29.html
Thanks much.

I just checked the site on PC and Mac and they both work fine except a couple of videos like Down to Earth which gives me this error message...
VideoError: 1000: Unable to make connection to server or to find FLV on server
Moving to the FMS forum...

Wow, thanks for the thorough check.
As it turns out, the video that you had trouble with had the name misspelled... where did you see the error message? All I could see was the download progress bar showing nothing.
I've had 2 Mac users who can't run any of the videos, though they run fine on those computers when streamed from a non-FMS server (http). Any ideas?
Also, thanks for moving the post, I didn't notice this forum.

You can see that if you have a debug Flash player installed...
What about the Flash Player version that they are using? You might want to double check what your minimum requirement should be and what they are using... and what brower they are using... I checked the site on FF3 and Safari on Mac and they both worked fine... I did not click every single movies, but most of them worked fine when I tried it...
I honestly do not know why HTTP works on their end while they are having trouble with the RTMP though...

Player version is probably worth looking into.
For this site, I'm requiring version 9.0.115 of the player - its the default setting for Flash CS3.
Sorry for my ignorance, but when you refer to the debug Flash Player, are you referring to the player that is installed w/Flash or do you have a version that is installed in your browser? I opened an swf into the player that is installed w/Flash, and it has the capability to open a URL, but when I tried it, I got nada. The only way I know to get error messages is when using the player inside of Flash, but that one doesn't have File/Open capability.
Thanks again.

I think this page will give you better information on how to view the trace output from the debug player...
