View Full Version : Bones and layer order?

So, here's the issue. I got the character drawn, animated, and linked together. He moves nice and fluid as well. However, I run into the issue... of... layer order?... I think?O.o

I have the entire character linked together, and I saved him as a movie clip. (It was made in illustrator, and then broken apart with each piece of his body being seperate and imported into flash, then linked with bones)

Now, when I go to animate I throw 'em on the top layer. But I soon noticed... "Ummm wait... How do I move 'em?" I realized that if I clicked on the movie clip, it opened a sub layer (Green tween bone animation timeline) for specifcally editting bone positions (Which is cool),

NOW, For what isn't cool. Yea' I can move his bones and stuff. But I can't figure out for the life of me how I would actually move him, oh say... from the left side of the screen to the right. Going back to the top layer I realized I could now move 'em, but it wasn't displaying the limbs animations sequence ?_?.

In simpler terms:
Top layer, can move the character but no animation occurs
Bones layer: Can move limbs but the character cannot be moved, and no character movement from previous layers can be seen

Sorry for the long winded post, but it was pretty tough to explain. I'm guessing that somewhere down the line I set my layers up incorrectly or something. Any ideas?

Also, Here's a picture of the lil' champion. (And would there be any easier way of linking the body to the back arm, cause that was a pain)
