Hello,
Saw this website today http://www.mymall.at/ and was wondering what software would have been used to create it? I think the 3d effect looks good.
Thanks

I think you could use adobe director, it uses javascript instead of actionscript and it is better for 3D animations.

It's obviously not made in director, if it is, it would be exported as a shockwave file, not an swf. Other than that, no idea how they made it in flash if they ever did.

Thank you for your replys, someone suggested it could have been made with 3D Studio Max?? I am gonna have a look at that software see what it can do.

You don't get it, the assets and stuff could have been done in any program that can do 3D, even javascript, but the final product must be compiled together in flash, basically you can use maya, 3Ds Max, anything you want, even swift 3D, which sucks in my opinion. The amazing thing is how the guy keeps the file size down with all the 3D stuff.

Technically it's pretty neat. Seems to load very slowly between clicks when navigating through the mall. Not sure that I'd buy into the concept of a virtual mall... seems like a colossal waste of time. Google is much faster and much easier to use. :p

Completely agree, only no lifers would do this, seriously. My local mall is like a ten minute walk away, how hard is it to walk there and actually buy something?
I don't understand what you guys are talking about, this is just video navigation made with cuepoint what's the big deal about it?

I think I need to clarify something, its not what a big deal it is, we are just debating the software that is most likely used to make such a thing, although personally I would say that the concept of a virtual mall is a total failure, that's all, we're not making a big deal out of it, contrary to what you said.

It's not a failure, in some countries, it is like a long way to their nearest mall. Or some are just lazy. The point is, it's not a failure IF the thing loads faster

I'm not saying it's a failure. I'm saying the idea of a virtual mall is pointless. There are other sites that do the same thing, only much much better. The idea of a virtual mall is neat, and I'd imagine that it's amplified to somebody who's never seen a mall before. In terms of practicality, it's pointless. Why do I need a virtual mall interface with long load times to provide a link to Dell's website for me?
The idea is cooler than the end product.

Exactly.
