What is an Adobe Certified Distance, I've heard of ACIs, ACEs, and ACAs, but what is an ACD?

i.e. any distance course, which will give you true Adobe certificate, when you finish the course.
there are many courses which give you some random certificate about your finishing the courses, but no one recognises those certificates.

You can check out the adobe website for more info, i assume I don't need to provide a link. They will tell you what to prepare, where to take the tests, etc, etc, sadly most of them are over 18 only and stuff, so I can't try them out, the questions are actually quite easy, even for the "Expert" courses. At least the sample questions are.

Are you talking about something like take a cource and you get a certificate at the end of the class kind of thing??? I don't think such thing exists...

Courses are a no no, but Adobe does offer certifications for people who complete their examinations at certain educational institutes.

You don't even need to take a course, just go there, sit for their exam and if you pass, you will get a cert. That is reconised by companies.
By "there", i mean listed schools.
Of course, if you do fail, then there goes your money...

If you do fail, the last thing on your mind would be money. It would be more of "How in the world did I even fail the test." Then again the sample questions that Adobe gives aren't all that hard.

For starters, you don't even know what the tool panel is? Then you go take the test.
Then agian, the only thing on your mind would be your stupidity

Anyway, how would having a certificate help? A good portfolio is always more important as it shows that you have experience to support your knowledge. It's what employers look out for, not just the cert.

Totally... The most important thing that we need to have is a good portfolio that shows what I can do and what I am capable of... That's the first thing I look when I need somebody to work with me...
The certificate... I do have several, but I have them only because that gives me some satisfaction... Nothing more, nothing less... I honestly do not know if that helped me landing on a new job or not though...

Point proven, a cert isn't everything.

It absolutely is not... If somebody is hiring another solely based on the certificate rather than what that person is capable of, that probably is not a good place to work anyways... If there are two candidates with very close potentials, I'd probably go with the person with the certificate, but otherwise, I don't really see any other benefit than having it on my signature... Dang... Mine still says Macromedia... :p
