Images on Same Horizontal Plane as TabNavigator

Does anyone know how to put an image on the same horizontal plane as the Tab Navigator Bar? My Tabs are right aligned, and I would like to put an image to the left of the bars. I tried using a TabBar, but could not get the TabBar to connect with the Canvas without any spacing. Is there anyway to float the image in the background?

you can nest both elements inside a canvas and give them the right x;y coordinates. I've had the same issue with skinning a TabBar (there's a gap between the bar and the content below), I think I worked it out by using the VerticalGap and top/Bottom Padding parameters.
