I have a number of huge projects that use a bunch of external ActionScript 2.0 files. They upgraded me to CS4 this week and I've loaded these older Flash 8 files into the new editor, renamed them, and saved them as CS4 files. Now - all the code is in AS2.0 and yet I have been able to publish them as Flash 8 AS2.0 and they work fine when uploaded to the Web site. All this to say - I thought that you couldn't do AS2.0 in CS3 or CS4. What am I missing?

Howdy and Welcome... ;)

I think CS4 allows you to choose AS1, AS2 or AS3... Just pick what you like the most... ;)

I knew that you could start A1, A2, or A3 from scratch in CS4 because the opening dialogue box lets you make that selection. So - I guess you only need to migrate to AS3 if you need the new player functionality of CS3 or CS4?

Yes... AS2 in CS4 won't allow you to utilize the new functionalities that are supported by CS4/FP10, for example...
