Hi,
So I have been publishing an air app quite happily, with a self signed certificate. No problem. As expected the app installs as publisher unknown etc.
However, the problem I have is finding the self signed certificate. i.e. I want to back up the file so that I can continue to work on the app on a different machine, but I cannot find the certificate.
When I created it I'm pretty sure I didn't specify a location to save the certificate, however when I go to export a release build the certificate is available to be used (i.e. it is in the dropdown of certificates to choose).
But where is the file?
If my workstation goes south and I need to restore from backups I'll have to create a new certificate and my users will have to reinstall; a less than ideal situation.
Any ideas?

Mine default saved to my "My Documents" folder by default but A) I am using the Flex Builder which you may not be (Flash and the SDK may save to the same spot though i don't know) B) that is on a windows machine and you maybe using a Mac (Well technically i use a Mac two but I have a Windows XP development server running in VMWare Fusion and thats where my flex builder is installed)

you can create the certificate file on Adobe Flash CS3 or CS4 and use it on Flex Builder 3

Thanks for the tips.
I am using flex builder alright.
I did some tests on windows XP and if one just enters a name for the new certificate and saves it, it appears that the file is saved in Program Files\Adbobe\Flex Builder\
However, the machine in question is a windows 7 machine, and the file isn't there.
In fact searching all partitions on the machine hasn't turned up the file.
I should be getting a proper certificate soon anyway so the problem will 'go away' then.
Still, something of a mystery.
That'll teach me for using a beta os for work.
One day I'll learn.

where are you getting the certificate from and how much does one cost?
