I'm constructing a tile-based game of sorts where the user will be able to explore full worlds in isometric form. At the moment I'm not really sure how large the world itself will be, but I'm trying to hunt down tutorials - or snippets of code - that could assist in constructing the game engine. It's basically a click and point exploration game, finding areas, playing games inside games, stuff like that. Does anyone have any links to tutorials that could help construct the tile-based engine for this World?

Here's a site I found useful a little while ago which is all about making tile based games, it does also go into isometrics so hopefully you'll find it useful:

Books on flash game creation might also be useful. I forgot the title but there is a frog on a cyan background as its cover page. Based on what I saw at my local library, it deals a whole lot with tile based worlds and gives tips on depth sorting, etc.

lol...don't give such a weird book description q(>_<)p

anyway alternativa and FFilmation engines are pretty good AS3 based tile engines, you can study them to learn a lot!
