What I have does is nested a turret inside a ship movie clip, and then when told to shoot a laser beam, I attach a laser MC to the turret so that it faces the same direction. The problem is, when I rotate the ship, the nested turret always seems to be one frame behind the rotation of the ship. I'm not saying that it IS one frame behind the ship, just that it seems like it is.
the result is, that whenever I am firing a laser with my ship stationary, it accurately hits the target, but when I press the buttons to rotate, the angle becomes distorted and aims a little bit off to the side of the target ship, just enough to completely miss. =\
What is causing this? How do I fix it?
Please download the game prototype to further understand my problem. The controls are W A S D for movement, click a ship to target it and then select which weapon you want to use (LASER!) to attack it. I recommend that you test the bug at 100% zoom and then go in for a close up on the laser turret to see what I am talking about. I have also slowed it down to 5 fps to make it easy to see.
Thanks, and any feedback (Especially on the bug) is welcomed.
