I have a flash file which has been created in Flash CS4. I am using CS3 and was wondering if there is any converter that I can use?
thanks

When you press "Save As", all you have to do is set the file type to be CS3 compatible, its built into Flash itself.

Actually I have two files sorry :) . but I don't have CS4. I have CS3 so it cannot open the files because they are created in flash CS4.

Based on what I know, there is no way to use CS3 to read a CS4 exclusive fla file

You would need to provide that CS4 .fla, and for someone - not me - who has Flash CS4 to re-save it in a CS3 format.

Agreed, like I said, I don't think that there is a way to do it yourself.
Suggestion: Download CS4 trial.

Or alternately, if you have a .swf, use a decompiler (which can decompile a CS4 format), and decompile the .swf into a CS3 format .fla.

I thought that most swf decompilers don't work well anyway and end up screwing up stuff about 50% of the time.

Thanks a lot for all the replies. Unfortunately I cannot afford to buy a decompiler as a :)tudent right now.
I also cannot download the trial because I have the CS3 installed after 3 months of big problem that I ran into when trying to install the whole package.
Not sure if I can upload the files here but I can send them by email if anybody is willing to please help to open the files in CS4 and save it as CS3 and send back to me. Sorry if I am asking too much :).
best
