View Full Version : FF, Rew buttons for streaming MP3? How?

I initially had the 8MB MP3 linked and exported with my player (which had ff, rew, stop, play, pause controls), but tossed that due to the apparently very familiar problem of the first frame sound load and preloaders. 8MB is probably better off streaming anyway,
My question is this, though...
How do I code my buttons to control a streaming MP3? I need ff, rw, play, stop and pause. I've checked out Kenny Bellew's awesome tutorial, but each example only has the play and stop button included. The one example with all buttons was the event sound, which was what I had originally, but could not attach a preloader with.
this is the existing player (event sound - very large)

thanks for the reply :-), but...the link is to a dead page. Shows "als/A...e-824" in the href tag. Could you c-n-p the link text instead?
Thanks again.
:D sorry man.

thanks toke...
This is the Kenny Bellew tutorial I had used previously. It's exactly what I'm looking for, except that it's for event embedded sounds, rather than streamed.
I can't find any info on creating FF/REW buttons for streamed sounds.
you understand german?

AWESOME! PERFECT! Thanks so much, toke. Audio is quite a bit more difficult than video in Flash MX. You've made it easier to understand now.

thanks to Madokan too for a great streaming control scripts.
anyway.. to do a pause button.. there are several ways depending on how you want it. the one that i attached here works this way..
after click play button.. the audio starts playing
then click pause button.. the audio get paused >> click on the pause button again to resume
if you click on the play button after you click pause, the audio will start from the beginning.
if you want rather have a play/pause toggle back and forth.. let me know.
cheers!
