Poor projector performance

I have been experiencing very poor performance in FP10 projectors when running in Fullscreen mode. Hitting ESC and running in a window, the performance increases dramatically.

Has anyone encountered this or found ways to fix it?

- I have hardware acceleration turned off.

Assuming your window is 800x600 (480,000 pixels) and your screen is 1280x1024 (1,310,720 pixels) here's what you just said...

"I asked Flash to move almost 3X more pixels around without any help from the hardware and it got slower!"

Sounds kinda silly when you hear it like that doesn't it?

Use hardware acceleration, use a smaller window or change the resolutoin of the screen so Flash doesn't have to do as much work in fullscreen mode.

Thanks for your response. Sorry for not being clearer:

I am building fullscreen applications - the resolution of the flash movie matches the resolution of the display. It is simply the displayState that seems to cause poor playback.

I am running at 1:1 - no scaling involved.

Also, fullscreen projectors seem to run just as slow whether hardware acceleration is on or off - I just mentioned it as I don't believe it is causing this particular problem.


So with that in mind, has anyone on the forum encountered this?

How big is the screen?
What kind of frame rate are you trying to maintain?
