Accessing Local Drives

Hi,

Can Flex web app access local system hard drives or removable drives.

Is it possible.

If it could, I would purge Flashplayer from my computer and never ever use it again. Allowing web sites access to your local machine would be an enormously foolish mistake.

Aaron is right, the sandbox restrictions will prevent the app from accessing local drives willynilly. However, if all you're trying to do is write to/read local files, check out SharedObject - great for storing cookies, etc. Also, you can download/upload files - check out FileReference. For unrestricted access, go with AIR.

i'm new to Flex. So want to know if its possible.
For Air application, Adobe Air has to be installed on the system which i dont want to.
