It's a small flash site I have been working on. Mainly to show some of the work that I have created working for advertising agencies.

First Impression: Loading time is way too long, I think that is due to your video of the guy fishing there but is it neccessary? Other than that, the site is pretty nice, so keep it up!

Yea it does take long, probably because I am loading the soundtrack at the same time. But I will get rid of that later on and taht should cut down the time by a fair bit :)

What's the bitrate of your music? Don't set it too high. And too long a loading time may turn off potential visitors. Just a tip ;)

As far as I have found, 64kbps is the best bitrate to balance out audio quality and file size.

Actually 48kbps is fine if you export it from Flash. Just try to see which one suits you best. ;)

Great work. good UI, Solid flash work indeed.
If I was pressed to say something, i'd say that the fonts on the buttons at the lower part of the screen and the background don't match visually to the more tech'ish content windows which appear on the top.

Ok, I finally saw the site. Previously, the loading time was too long and I gave up. I must say the music quality is really good. Maybe too good.
The UI is simple to understand and use and the transitions are soothing. The subtle effects in the background are also nice.
But I have to say again, the loading time is way too long.

What subtle effects? I didn't notice them, maybe its sound, I'll try turning my speaker on again.

Hey guys,
I totally agree with you all. Loading time is a main issue here. So I won't preload the sound track till later on, just the main file first.
In regards to the techy look logo etc I developed that a while ago, and then chose the theme, so the balance isn't there and I totally agree. But I had to follow through as I had a deadline to meet. Next site will probably be more techy.
The subtle effects, I think he is talking about the birds flying by, the stars subtle twinkle hard to see but I am not fussed, person on the jetty will move the rod and the fishing line moves with it, and the lantern maybe? It does have a looping flame effect.

Oh, okay.
Anyway a feel that is too techy and edgy may not always be good, depending on your target audience, not saying that its bad. So do keep that in mind for your next site, and good luck!;)
I think you focused on the wrong things when building this site. It's a portfolio, but your work is displayed tiny, there's no text about the projects, and launching a project takes you out of the flash into a popup window (ahhhhhhh!!!). Instead of learning about you and your work, I'm treated to a pretty animation and some soothing music. And the script menu with particle effects is very "hey look at this cool tutorial I just found." Nothing fits together. It doesn't seem like the same person did the site and the work it contains. And that's a compliment to your work...the site doesn't do it justice.

I understand where you are coming from. Truth is I had to get it up and running very quick, and by then it was too late to go back and change things. Next one will be better!

Websites are just one of the few things that can't be rushed;)
