Hi,

I'm developing an AIR app on Mac OS X 10.4.11 using Flash CS3.

It all works fine except the installer. In fact any Air installer that I create on this machine doesn't appear to work. The installer always fails with the following error:

"Sorry and error has occurred.
This application requires an update to Adobe AIR that is not available for your system."

I don't understand which update I am missing! I have the AIR 1.5.1 framework installed. And I successfully installed and ran a third party eBay application. Maybe there's something wrong with my installer? But what could it be?!

I've looked all over the web but no one seems to have encountered this specific error yet! You're my last hope...

I have attached a simple test Air app that I created and which I can't install. If anyone could check if it works for them it would be really helpful (please rename it to .air). Thank you.

Ya doesn't work for me either ... same error....and i have made a bunch of AIR programs the only thing i can recommend is to try installing Eclipse and the Flex SDK and use that to make your applications .... both are open source so you wont have 2 by anything

I'm guessing he probably has a lot of work done in flash already may take too much time to switch. now what updates for flash did you install? are you fully updated? did you start developing when AIR was in beta? Have you updated Flash with the new updates on top of the initial first release of the AIR 1.0 update?

Thanks for your help guys.

It's fixed! I had only installed the first Air update for CS3, this one:
http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/AIR:Flash_CS3_Professional_Update

But I hadn't installed the Adobe AIR 1.1 Update for Flash CS3 Professional from 6/16/2008, here:
http://www.adobe.com/support/flash/downloads.html

What confused me was that I was getting the warning on the installer of a compiled app and not during the compilation of it, which I think would have made way more sense.

Anyway, it works now and I can carry on with development... thank you everyone :)
