You might want to take a look at this tutorial...

I think $75 is abit too much for the job that you can do it manually with ease... :(
Hi,
The autostart does not work with Mac OsX or later. When I burned my CD-R using Toast ver 9.0.2, it gave me the option to using autorun using Windows but not Mac.
Any idea how I can make the autostart work when using a Mac platform.
Please note that the link posted by CyanBlue is from an old tutorial, probably the time of Mac Classic, which does not work with the current Mac OSX or later. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I really need to make this CD-R work using AUTOSTART with Mac OS X.
Thank you

You can't MAKE a CD AutoPlay on Mac or Windows.
On windows it's enabled by default but the user can disable it very easily. On the Mac it's off by default and most users can't be bothered or don't know how to turn it on again.
There's a great tutorial on burning cross-platform CD's by Radina Matic (DiDi) that you can find at http://usuarios.lycos.es/didinomade/ProjectorsBurningFAQ.htm. This is still the best starting point I've found on the subject.
Hi,
The one that I created in Toast ver 9.0.2 autorun on windows platform but not on Mac OS X, when tested.

Autorun is disabled by default on the Mac and there's nothing you can do about this.
I believe autostart can work on both platforms if created in Director. Is that correct.

Autorun is not a an OS feature on the Mac (it is on Windows), it's part of QuickTime. Regardless though, Autorun is disabled by default on the Mac and has been since OS X first shipped.
How can you enable it by sticking in a CD? You can't. Something or someone has to enable it before your CD is installed.
I'll keep repeating it until you get it :)

I can help... ;)

A few years ago there was a Mac virus which used the QuickTime Autorun feature to wreak havoc on Mac’s all over the world. Macintosh engineers came up with a solution for fixing the problem—they simply removed the autorun feature from the OS X operating system. Hence the inability for OS X users to autorun CDs.
You can't make OS X autostart, but the next best thing is to make the CD folder open automatically when the CD is inserted. We will show you how to do this. That way the user is directed right to your product.

You can't make OS X autostart, but the next best thing is to make the CD folder open automatically when the CD is inserted. That still requires something running n the system or a feature to be enabled in the operating system BEFORE the CD is inserted.
