Dear users and moderators,
1: Won't it be better if we are able to dedicate a section that contains solution to the problems.
2: Meaning there are lots of posts with solution and once a post has a solution,we categorize it like security issues, external communication issues, tween effect issues and so on.
3:And the user who has posted the problem is responsible for highlighting the problem and how its solution is derived with the names of those who have helped him/her.
4: Why I have written about this is that it keeps track of how many solution have come and it prevents the user to post the same queries again.
5:Yes,they can search the post and find posts related to their problem but they have to go through each and every details which sometimes may be tedious.
6:Further,this section can also act as a form of tutorial so that user can know what types of error they can face and how to handle it.
It is just my view and I want every users to look upon and comment on my view and ideas on how to implement it.
Thanks in advance :D

Probably after year or two there would be over 200 questions/solutions in each section. Imagine newbie user have problem regarding external communication. Do you really think newbie will bother to review all posts instead of use search?
In Theory idea may be good, but I am afraid that in practice nothing will change.

I tried asking everyone about creating new stickies, but in the end, we all came to a conclusion that it'll be better for us to link to other tutorials instead. Alway, I doubt many will be wanting to browse through all the so called solutions just to find the one they want.

Some other forums do have an option to mark topic as *solved*. Though this has several problems:
- this option is available only to the topic starter. Thus, he may either forget to do it, or mark something which is not a good solution, or is not a solution at all as *solved*.
(For instance, Adobe Flex forum is full of bad solutions marked as *solved*, which rather confuses people who then try to implement those "solutions").
- this encourages people who are looking for solution to simply copy and paste the code (without even reading the accompanying remarks), which, IMO does more harm then good, as thoughtless copypasting usually gives a problem in the end.
Most people don't want to bother looking for a solution but instead come to these forums in hope someone will do the researches for them or will just know the answer. Most questions can be answered by simply goggling them so why don't they do that to start with? Creating a section for keeping all successful answers won't change this behavior, they will still come directly to the forum and ask the question that they can answer themselves in 10 seconds by doing their own researches. But that's the way it works and that anyway keeps a website like this one alive!

Well, that's not really true ;)
You can see forum statistics in the bottom of the page... then you'll see that the number of registered users is hardly a 10-20% of all the people browsing this forum... People do search forums, but those who come to ask usually don't :)
This was the current state, when I posted:
Currently Active Users: 627 (21 members and 606 guests)
I was talking only about people asking questions on the forums! Sorry if that wasn't clear! ;)

The points all you have delivered is indeed true.
But one thing is clear,at least we can put a checked sign to mark it as solved or unsolved.
And above all, being user of this forum,we must always make it better and better and most of the guys around here are so dedicated in giving out the solutions,I am really amazed. And this is the spirit that has made this site come to life.

Well, marking solved or unsolved is still not a solution in my opinions. Maybe a team of dedicated moderators to approve the "solved" problems would be able to "slightly" improve the "unsolved as solved" problem situation. But that would require a lot of time, which not so many of those who are actually knowledgeable would have.
On a side note, I get better at writing ActionScript thanks to... answering people's questions alone. But I don't want myself to be the only one who gains from answering those questions. People should try to answer the questions themselves and gain that experience themselves.

Actually I fully agree with you. 30% of the topics are recycled from old threads.

You're right! And it is very annoying when people don't search the forum first... or use [as] tags! It's downright obnoxious, and it shows how lazy people can be!
Two things should be intresting in my opinion:
Having a note above every reply field about using [as] tags.
Have the [as] tags button on the quick reply text box.

I love the idea of including a [AS] button on the quick reply box, as I'll prefer it over having to constantly type and retype [AS]...etc... over and over again.

I'd think typing [AS] is faster, though? Or maybe it's just me... because I like typing much more than throwing my mouse pointer around. Also because I have to type a lot at work.

We used to have SWF button on the Quick Reply box, and it got removed for some reason... Not sure why though... But I've never used that button or any other buttons in the vB text editor... It's just whole lot faster to type [AS] or [QUOTE] myself than try to find where my mouse went...
I think this is a good idea, laaptu, but I am skeptical that new people are really going to dig around to see what other people have suggested... I don't think many people even try to search the forum... :(
I think better way might be creating a linked list that we know that works universally, not specific to the problem, and put it as a sticky... That have better chance than searching, I think... That's my personal thought on that...

The point is that people won't even bother to search the linked list (most of the new threads) are of repeat subjects, despite the fact that the answer is always only a Google away.

I can't Google! I am stuck here... with you people... going insane... ARGHH  Just Kidding.

On the other hand, don't Google, use anything but Google, Google is taking over the world! :p
By the way, has anyone noticed that the general chats section has recently became a place of random nonnsensical talking.
