Is there any way to renew the trial for another 30 days? I tried reinstalling it, but that didn't work, so could I redownload it from a cd I got from a book and have it work? I doubt the flash people were that stupid to make a way for it to be done, but I'm using a program at school that has been paid a fortune for, so I think that since I'm using this as a substitute for that when I'm not there, I should get another free trial version. 8^( sigh...

lol... your a CheapO like me...hehe.....
I think it is b/c there is some kinda file stored somewhere on your computer that tells the program that you cannot use it.
I don't where it is stored so I can't tell you.
I guess you have a choice of buyin' FLASH MX or find a pirate copy on-Line

It's probably inthe registery, but I'm not about to go in there for two reasons:
1. First and foremost, it's probally illegal to 'renew' the trial.
2. Secondly, I'm not in the moodto destroy my computer.
Have a nice day.
(Please don't report me to macromedia for being mischevious :) )

You could stay perfectly within the law and download a 30 day trial of Flash MX.

Yes, but my computer isn't on the internet; I'm on an old webtv...It makes everything that I want to do impossible...

I've got a million dollar idea for macromedia! They should make a 2 dollar a day 'rent' option...that would be nice. They'd end up making more money if they (the customer) kept the product for more than a few hundred days! Wow, I should go into marketing, lol...But I'm sure that they would probably sell more copies if they didn't charge 50 million a piece...I'd buy one if it were say 150. I can go under the education offer for only 99 though, but I can't do it for commercial stuff if I ever wanted to switch to making money off of it. I wonder if they would allow us to upgrade to a commercial allowed version...something to think about.

question - what are the criteria for buying an educational
licence? I'm unemployed right now but doing some volunteer
web work for an educational organization - maybe they could
buy it for me.
It seems like what you got for $199 is just a sh*tload of stuff
that would let me upgrade my older (and already paid for)
stuff to the MX versions.

With an educational liscence you can't do any commercial work...that may work...Go to google.com and search for macromedia worldwide online store. You'll get an error page on the first link, but there should be a link to another page whcih has a link to the store. at the bottom there is a live customer service link. Talk to them...i'll try and find the address, but what i just stated should work.

http://www.macromedia.com/resources/education/requirements.html
i just read the req. ....mark is right... but how would they know if you are using it for commerical work. Unless you get audit or something.
But if you are just self employeed and do freeLance stuff.... no biggy.
*but I am not saying you should break the law* ;)
...hmm....but i'm not sure if you can purchase it through "educational"...
they say something about they do predioc security checks w/ educational organization.
