Hi,

new to the forum and started a thread where Kim Jong was helping me with a script, and now his profile reads 'Kim Jong - Banned by AS.org Staff'

yes, it appears to be a user that really pissed off the moderators and site owners with an earlier account. He keeps trying to make new ones.

Voldemort? doubt it. I was thinking of someone whose name rhymes with A Comic.

Yes, unfortunately its the same user. Oldnewbie, Atomic, Tacos, etc, etc, etc. Its a real pain, because he is useful, but he just becomes too much of a headache for other users.

well he can still be useful without causing trouble. just continue to ban his accounts before he gets so many posts that he starts to feel that he has negotiating power behind him to tell others what to do.

But if I were atomic/old_newbie/tacos I would stop posting "please upload your FLA" because it's obvious him almost every single time, and it's not really helpful to just edit it and send it back. If you are going to cause problems for admins with your continuous account creation at least make decent posts that help everyone besides that single person in that situation.

Agreed, but on many occasions, posting the source file would be the easiest as many of the code errors that I see around are all due to MC structuring/forgetting to name an instance etc. All of which are almost impossible to tell without the source file.

The guy has helped me out on many occasions over the years. I thinkhe also got banned from FK. what was the issue here?

We are not saying that he is not helping, it's just that he's done some things which apparently didn't give much respect for others. I personally wouldn't know as I've never been here long, but that's what other say.

I had this strange feeling in my gut that it was him. Turns out I was right. But, I still have no idea how the moderators realise they were all the same person.

I think it's pretty obvious who it is by how he writes. Also check out this thread (http://www.actionscript.org/forums/showthread.php3?t=204828).

No one is arguing his contributions to the forum. Unfortunately, its everything else thats the problem. Many other contributors have left the forum because of him. He was banned from Flash Kit for the same reason.

time to close this thread I would say...
