Can anyone tell me the latest on indexing the metadata within SWF files on the web?

I'm currently using Flash CS4 and have a project coming up that involves majority flash. However, the site needs to be indexed as best as possible with current search engines.

Are there still major drawbacks to designing a site entirely in flash when the site needs to be optimized as much as possible when searched.

Flash CS4 was released in late 2008, the thread you referenced was from 2003-2005 and last added to in Jan 2006 (which again is to an article from 2003). Since its now almost mid 2009 don't you think things have changed some since then? As well as how Google indexes/processes things? I am not saying that thread does not hold some possible valid points still, but likewise it is rather dated and things have changed considerably really.
