Could somebody please tell me what the difference is between an swf file and a widget?

I know that widgets are swf files, but there are some things that widgets do that simple swf file don't eg, you can import them into programs like adobe captivate.

If I write some code in flash and publish to swf, what do I need to do to covert the code to an swf widget?

Any ideas?

If you don't know, then please leave a response saying that you too are mystified.

an swf is a file publish from a fla. The term "widget" can refer to any icon or graphical interface element that is manipulated by the computer or internet user to perform a desired function online or on their computer. This dose not mean it's an swf. io suggest you research widgets to get a better understanding of what they are and how you can create your own.
