Preload swf in empty MC

I've asked this one before, but didn't have much luck.

All I want is for a preload bar to appear when I load a swf into an empty MC on the main timeline. This one is really pissing me off. Please help.

It's probably easiest to add a preloader to the loaded swf.

instead of haviing a preLoad for the *swf file in the MainTimeLine that is loading the *swf file.....

Have the *swf do itself!!

Trying to preload an external .swf, however, it has sound attached to it and I am running into difficulties.

Why does the sound load before the preloader?!?

i forgot what the rule is...but

for sound...it doesnt' load with the *.swf

So you need to do a preload for the sound itself.

o...are you attaching the sound in the movie or you loading the sound externally?

I was able to get a preloader working for external swfs (without the swfs having preloaders themselves), and webguy came up with a prototype.
