At the 2009 Game Developers Conference a group of Indie developers discussed the need for a better way for game developers to evaluate tools. I decided to do something about the problem. I'm looking for indie game developers and commercial tool makers to take a look at http://IndieGameTools.com. Its a website that catalogs game development tools and indie developers' opinions about them. Time will tell if it becomes a useful tool itself. I'd appreciate any time you can spare to provide feedback on your favorite tools. Perhaps when the site matures it can help your project.
The database is starting out with about 800 tools but is lacking in tools that specifically support Flash game development. I confess that I have about 5 books about Flash on my desk but I haven't yet jumped into the water... being a long time Torque developer instead. So if this new website is going to help the Flash community then I need to learn more about game development tools that specifically support Flash games, that's why I'm here. Thanks.
